What you get:

All materials

Barista Coffee (hot drink) and sweet treat delivered!

Relaxed and safe atmosphere

Qualified Teacher and experienced workshop facilitator

Week One: Black and White Sensory Board

A sensory board is made up of different textures and shapes in shades of black and white. Black and White because it is most engaging for baby due to the high contrast.

Week Two: Butterfly Mobile (Montessori education inspired)

The butterfly mobile is a learning tool to help your baby develop depth perception, focus and understanding of movement. As the butterflies dance in the breeze, you baby will be able to follow with their eyes. This important learning tool can hold your baby's attention for up to 40 minutes at a time!

Week Three: Sensory Hoops Workshop

A sensory hoop is a tool used for encouraging babies to explore different materials to develop awareness and sensory perception. On a large hoop, you will be given access to many different materials that you can tie, sew, loop or knot in place.

Week Four: Teething Necklace

Babies need to chew in order to help their teeth push through. This sturdy and durable necklace is the perfect teething toy for your baby that is also a stylish accessory. We will teach you how to finger-knit some funky fabric yarn into a necklace before we attach some baby friendly silicone beads for good chewing measure!

Week Five: Pom Pom Mobile/ Wall hanging

Pom poms offer babies texture and depth that can help them to develop focus and concentration. You can decide on your colour scheme and mobile set-up to suit your taste. For really young babies, a black and white mobile is super beneficial for development and will encourage them to engage and focus.

Week Six: Farmyard Finger Puppets

Stitch your own set of cute farm animal finger puppets to enjoy with your child. All designs come pre-cut so you can easily complete the set (even with a babe in arms). Have no fear from home-economics classes past, you will succeed with these and feel super proud when they are complete!

Week Seven: Design-A Library Bag

Come with an idea or none at all! I've got EVERYTHING you need to create a cute tote bag that is environmentally friendly and completely personalised! You can paint, stitch, hot glue, draw, stamp...whatever takes your fancy on the day. I even have templates you can follow if you need an extra hand. To top it off we will make a wool tassel to dangle from the side.

Week Eight: Paper Quill Nursery Print

A popular little nursery addition, this paper technique involves rolling stips of paper into shapes to fill a pre-planned design. You can make something big and bold like a hot air baloon scene or keep it simple and sweet like a mini elephant with a balloon posie. A gorgeous statement and peaceful process.

Week Nine: Sensory Bottles

They are like snow globes but way more fun! Create mini-worlds for your little one to discover...and all in a handy shake bottle. Choose three different themes to create inside a bottle. Including but not limited to; glitter gel, crazy buttons and i-spy alphabet. These crafty little sensory bottles allow your baby time to explore the contents whilst also developing motor skills through grasping, rolling and shaking. If you have a toddler or child who is eager to help, this is a great workshop to do together.

Why do these workshops exist?

Here are Mumma Got Skills, we hope to show parents that meaningful learning toys and experiences are so much more fulfilling when made by you!  We also know what it's like to lose a sense of your identity as you busy yourself with the all consuming needs of your baby. We love our babies of course, but we also require the space to free our minds and busy our hands. That's why these workshops exist, to provide you with the chance to make something totally guilt free while your babies mingle.

Did you know that you are helping another Mum with your ticket purchase?

As a Social Enterprise, we put 50% of our profits towards education and development of free and low cost workshop for parent's at risk of post natal anxiety and depression.
